Albion Celebrates Autism Awareness!

Albion's Autism Awareness Month

The month of April is recognized as National Autism Awareness Month. During this time a lot is done to promote acceptance and awareness of the developmental disability known as Autism. Understanding some of the characteristics of individuals with Autism can help increase acceptance and awareness.

11109 Webster Road

Strongsville, OH

This month, we would like to come together as a school to promote acceptance and awareness of Autism. We are so excited to involve the students and staff in this school-wide celebration of Autism! RSVP if you would like to participate in the poster war with your AA students.

RSVPs are enabled for this event.

Friday, April 15th - Albion goes BLUE! Students and staff are invited to dress up head to toe in their bluest gear, the crazier the better! The color blue is associated with Autism Awareness because it represents the high number of boys diagnosed with the disorder, which is five times greater than the number of girls diagnosed with Autism.

Friday, April 22nd- Albion's AA Autism Awareness War! We challenge each AA classroom to compete in our poster competition! The posters will be judged Friday and the winning AA room will earn a pizza party! The poster should promote Autism Awareness and will be judged on creativity, relation to Autism Awareness, and overall look.

Friday, April 29th- Find-A-Fact Friday! Students are encouraged to take a minute during the week to find a fact about Autism and write it down. These facts can be turned into the blue table during their lunch period in exchange for a special reward!
