Here It Comes
My Summer Adventures
We did get away to Orange Beach again this summer. The beach is my FAVORITE place, even during a gobal pandemic. In addition to our normal luggage, I packed a sanitation bag complete with masks, bleach wipes, peroxide, and rubbing alcohol. We had beautiful weather the whole time, and enjoyed the time away, even though it was a bit different. I always love my time off, and as sad as I am to see the summer fading, I am excited to welcome everyone back into the building! Come share your summer adventures with me!
Welcome to #teamHES
Currently, we have not found anyone to fill the role of our office assistant. Jessiqa accepted a full-time position at Hermann Hospital early this summer, and she leaves very big shoes to fill at HES. While we continue to search for the very best fit, please know that transportation questions/issues may not be resolved as quickly as we are used to.
Changes in the Building!
We do have some building changes that aren't quite as ready as I would like but will get finsihing touches in the next few weeks. We've moved our food and coffee room to the "old" counselors office. Shelley will be housed in the main office area, in the old food room!
Please note that mailboxes are located in the copy room and will be arranged in alphabetical order by department/grade level.
We have tried to make a dedicated space for kids who aren't feeling well outside of Brenda's office. You will need to show your kids these spaces so they aren't walking into Brenda's office while there may be other sick kids in there.
Your staff handbook will be shared with you today as well! Please note that your schedules have changed just a bit. I have had to alter the scheduleo to only allow for 15-minute recesses since our students are in different groups when they play outside. It will be imperative that you follow the times posted. All times have been altered to fit Health Departement Guidelines.
One major change to our day is that breakfast WILL BE served in classrooms. There's a breakfast procedure page in our staff handbook. While the first few days will be a learning curve, I think we may find that we like having our kids enter our rooms at a more consistent time.
You are welcomed and encouraged to wear a mask to our PD and our meetings. More information about masks while teaching will be shared on August 5.
It worked so well last year, that I'm going to ask again! Please do not use Room 5 as a dumping ground for your old materials. You can leave whatever you aren't interested in keeping on the floor/a chair outside of your classroom for a few days for others to go through. Nancy will take care of it after a bit of time. Or you can throw it away! ;)
