Hamilton Ridge News and Events - May 2021

A Note from Mrs. Z

Dear Hamilton Ridge Families,

May is here! I hope you are enjoying the spring weather and outdoor activities. Like your family's schedule, May is a very busy month at school. We are staying focused on the many lessons we want to ensure students have before summer break. Each day is brimming with a busy schedule! So too, we are celebrating learning and our year together with culminating activities and celebrations. I count many successes: our students have been with us full time for several months, they are learning and growing, and they are happy. We have endeavored to provide the richest school experience possible throughout this unprecedented year. How fortunate we are to have parents like you who have partnered with us to support your kids. I wish you a great month. We look forward to the next six weeks with your amazing kids!

Fundraiser Challenge - Twin Bees!

Principal Zwolenski and Dean of Students Lindsay Comstock, fulfilled the PTC fundraiser challenge! Mrs. Z and Mrs. C committed to dressing up in a funny costume during lunchtime if the HRE PTC met the goal of $25,000 in their direct donation drive. Well, Hamilton Ridge families surpassed the goal, raising a total of $26,940. The PTC is busy making plans for the funds, with the majority marked for outdoor play and ESTEM equipment.

Hamilton Ridge PTC Update

This week is Teacher Appreciation Week! On Tuesday, May 4, we're encouraging all kids to wear RED to school that day. Students nationwide are doing the same, so let's pay some mad respect to the teachers and staff we love at HRE!

Thanks to the generosity of our school family during our direct donation drive, we've been able to fund and build the first of many outdoor projects. The DOGS built and assembled a gaga ball pit for the playground, and as one teacher put it, the kids are "in gaga heaven!"

We have a school store in partnership with Paar Sports! This store is a great way to buy HRE and Laker gear for family and friends, and proceeds from each item sold come right back to the school. Perfect for May graduations and birthdays!

The entire school directory is now available, separated by grade. You can find it at this link: Families were invited to opt-in in to this directory at the start of the school year. Please reach out to the Hamilton Ridge PTC with questions at

Our next PTC meeting is Tuesday, May 4, at 6:30. Please join us virtually for news on projects in the works, get an update from Principal Zwolenski and hear about a fun way to get to a Twins game! Here's the link to log on:
