Elementary Reading Buddies
Johnson County Soil & Water Conservation Winners
Four Godley ISD students earned 1st place in their respective divisions and 6th grade science teacher, Julie Schroeder, was awarded Outstanding Conservation Teacher of the Year in the Johnson County Soil and Water Conservation contest.
Kristen Culbertson won the District Senior Division Essay Contest, placed 2nd in the Area contest and her essay advanced to the State competition (state results have not been announced). Kristen was asked to read her essay and was awarded a check.
Breanna Nicholson won the District Junior Division Essay Contest and was asked to read her essay and was awarded a check. Both Breanna and Kristen are students of Lacey Bennett.
Colin Price won the District 6th Grade Poster Contest, placed 2nd in Area and his poster advanced to the State competition (state results have not been announced).
Pennelope Newell won the District 5th Grade Poster Contest; her science teacher is Teresa Greer.
Finally, Jeremy Praytor, 2nd grade teacher, won a $25.00 drawing!
Godley students and science teachers are to be commended for their continued efforts and participation in the Johnson County Soil and Water Conservation contests over the years. State results will be announced in June and we will be anxiously awaiting those results!

3rd Grader Wins Award
Lady Cat Track
Jaycee Pannell and Meritt McKittrick represented Godley High School and District 8-4A at the State Track Meet, May 13-14. Meritt competed in the 100 and 400, placing third in both events. Jaycee brought home gold in both the 100 Hurdles and 300 Hurdles. This was Jaycee's 3rd trip to the state track meet, and it was Meritt's second trip. Congratulations to both these hard working and talented young ladies.

Quiziz Awards
Congratulations to Mrs. Domel. Her quiz: cell organelles and function was one of the most popular quizzes on the Quiziz website at one point this year. It was played more than 88 times by 1191 students around the world. She was recognized as the #MostInspiringCreator!
