Hug a Bear Day
This history of stuffed animals goes back a long way. Some evidence suggests that the tradition of having something soft to play with or hug goes as far back as Ancient Egypt. Students learned about the history of teddy bears, toured the Vermont Teddy Bear Factory virtually, and felt the many textures of different stuffed animals.

Shaving Cream Foam Dough
- 1 cup of shaving cream
- 2 cups of cornstarch
Directions: In a large mixing bowl, stir shaving cream and cornstarch to combine. Use your hands to knead the rest of the cornstarch into the dough. If the dough feels too sticky, add more cornstarch. If the dough feels like it’s crumbling, add more shaving cream. This should be a soft silky texture. Separate the dough into 6 equal amounts. Use a fork to mix the food dye into each dough ball in a large mixing bowl. Once the color is mixed in, add a few pinches of cornstarch and knead the dough until the color is thoroughly combined.
