Save Tigers Now
Nolan Sanders
Introduction
Only a hundred years ago, there were 100,000 tigers that roamed the earth freely, in the wild. Today, now in 2015, there are only about 3,200 left. Why are these big cats disappearing so rapidly?
Last Chance for the Wild Tiger?
Illegal Trade and Black Marketing
All across Asia, hunters seek the Bengal tiger specifically. Some of the cats' parts are ingredients in traditional and cultural Asian medicines, and folk remedies, so they sell for a lot of money.
Deforestation
Deforestation is when trees and plants are cleared and bulldozed in a forest, they are usually cleared for towns to expand, or for some sort of warehouse for large businesses. When this happens, it destroy's the tiger's home, and the habitat for their prey. Reduced vegetation reduces food for their prey, and the tigers also go hungry.
Why It Matters...
Tiger's are living creatures, just like us. They aren't humans, but they are alive, and they should have a chance too. It may not directly affect us as humans, but it is definitely the right thing to do.
