BCJA STEM Fair
Your students should be well on their way with their STEM Fair projects. Our excitement is growing as we get closer to the big event. This will be an exciting and engaging campus event to showcase our learning in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math! Here are a few reminders.
We will provide the project boards and will host several STEM nights when families will be able to come and work on projects, receive feedback, and extra help. The teachers will continue working with your students during class, but projects will need to be worked on at home as well. Please take a look at the packet attached and the important dates below. Please keep in mind that individual teachers may have other soft deadlines to keep the students on track.
Judging
- Our judges are STEM professors from a nearby University.
- Please use the rubric to make sure your child has all components.
- Scholars will be required to give an oral presentation to the judges during the school day and answer any questions about their project.
- STEM Fair is mandatory for all students.
IMPORTANT DATES
- February 15 STEM Work Night, 5-7pm
- February 22 STEM Work Night, 5-7pm
- February 26 STEM Projects are Due
- February 27-28 Project Judging (Students will be called to present their project to the judge)
- February 29 STEM Fair @ 6pm, STEM Activities and Winners will be announced.
STEM Fair Schedule
- The evening of Thursday, February 29, 2024 @ 6pm
- 6pm-6:30 Students will stand by their projects and provide mini presentations to onlookers.
- 6:30-7:30 STEM Stations and family activities.
- 7:30-8:00 Winners & Awards Announced
BCJA/SAC Spelling Bee- Friday, March 1
All students, grades K-8, are encouraged to participate in the class and school-level spelldowns.
The finalists in grades 3-8 will be eligible to participate in SAC Spelling Bee Finals at River Oaks Campground.

SAC Festival Expo- March 16-17, Orangeburg, SC
Each year the South Atlantic Conference hosts their annual Festival Expo for all 17 schools in our conference. Students compete in different academic areas to demonstrate academic progress and mastery. Selected Students or those who have won school wide competitions will compete at the SAC Festival Expo in the following areas:
Spelling Bee
Science Fair
Oratorical Contest
Robotics
Math Durby
More details will be shared as they become available from the South Atlantic Conference Office of Education.
Summer Camp
Before we know it, summer will be here! We would like to know if this in a need. In order to have camp, we need at least 10 students for all four weeks. Please reply to this email if you are interested after reviewing the details below.
BCJA Summer Camp
- June 10- July 5, 8am-1pm (4 Weeks, July 4th Holiday off)
- $50 registration fee
- $175/week for BCJA students, $200/week for non BCJA students
- Lunch, field trips, and materials included.
- Math & Reading tutorials
Shopping Fundraiser!
It costs approximately $13,406 to educate a child at BCJA per year. BCJA's Tuition is at most, $7,626 to keep Christian Education affordable. As a non-profit institution, we rely heavily on fundraising, grants, and donations. We would appreciate your participation immensely. Thank you!

The scholarships listed above go very quickly and the application is likely closed. We suggest signing up for the newsletter in case more funding becomes available.

BCJA Handbook & Policies
Some important policies are outlined below:
- At the time of registration, admission fees are required. Tuition fees are due by the 1st of each month or the designated date on your financial agreement that must be signed before the start of school.
- ALL students are required to wear their respective uniforms each day (See Uniform Schedule here, Buy uniforms here).
- Ornamental jewelry is not to be worn on school grounds or at school sponsored functions.
- Brightly colored or decorated nails, eye make-up, blush and lip coloration are not allowed.
- If weather conditions warrant the closing of school, an announcement will be made to notify the public by 6:00 a.m or earlier.
- The use of an iPad/Chromebook so a privilege and can be limited or revoked due to inappropriate use or neglect as determined by faculty and administration.
- Negative behaviors (i.e., bullying, use of profanity, vandalism, consistent disruption to classroom environment, etc.) outlined in the handbook are not tolerated and may result in suspension or expulsion.
