4th Grade Day of Code - Featured in the News LInk Below!

BBN '15-'16 Week 11
If you didn't get a chance to check out our tweets on our Day of Code last week, it might be fun to take a minute to see what the kids did. They created codes using unplugged materials (cups) first. Then, they used several different coding apps to create different programs. Frustration. Confusion. Success. All kinds of emotions as the kids learned how to code - at the end of the day, the kids felt successful and excited. Just what we want.

Our 4th grade class will be going on an overnight field trip to Base Camp in St. Paul on January 7th. We will depart from Birchview at 1:15pm on Thursday after eating lunch at our regular time. We will spend the afternoon and evening building leadership skills through a variety of team building activities before staying the night. After breakfast and additional morning activities, students will return to Birchview in time for lunch on Friday, January 8th.

We are all looking forward to engaging in team building, rock climbing, robotics and archery on this special trip. Please return your child's permission slip as soon as you are able. If you'd like to learn more about the team-working activities we will participate in there, please check out Base Camp's website.
