Report Cards: Believe it or not, this is the end of our 2nd trimester and we only have one more trimester to go! We are sending out report cards on Friday. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns about the report. A parent-teacher conference can be arranged to discuss those issues either in a face to face conference or via email or telephone.
Parent Survey: Last year we sent out a parent survey about our communication at OTES and the feedback really helped us continue to be aware of our work in this area. We know some times there are situations or miscommunications between home and school, but we really know the basis of a good relationship between teachers/administrators and parents helps to support our students. Please take the time to give us your thoughts about how we are doing with this quick survey link: https://forms.gle/7D7Etge5vkudPgLu7
Inservice Day on March 20th: Teachers will be in session on Friday, March 20th, but students will have the day off. We will take advantage of this day with intense cleaning for our custodians while our teachers work on various projects. One part of the inservice day will be for staff members to attend a guest speaker, Trevor Ragan, on the Orono Campus. Here's a link to some of his work if you are interested in hearing his research and how it may impact our thinking: https://trainugly.com/portfolio/tedx-talks/ The University will inform us if the event will be rescheduled if the facility has been closed. We will have our Inservice Day regardless of the University plans though.
Empower Me testing: State Required Testing starts next week with our Fifth Graders on Thursday.
- Fifth Grade March 19-25
Fourth Grade March 25-April 1
Third Grade April 2-April 8
Makeup testing April 8- April 16
Family Dance: We are postponing our Family Dance at this time. We hope to reschedule so we can enjoy this fun event with our families at a later date. We will keep you posted. We are trying to continue to offer our classes and be appropriately responsive to the current conditions in our community.
