  • Calcium - for healthy bones and teeth
  • Phosphorous - for energy release
  • Vitamins - A, D, B, Riboflavin (for healthy skin)

  • a condition in which bones become weak and brittle
  • the most common type of bone disease

How can I prevent it?

5 Simple Steps:

  1. Get recommended amounts of calcium and vitamin D
  2. Engage in regular weight-bearing exercise
  3. Avoid smoking and excessive alcohol
  4. Talk to your doctor about bone health

Healthy Food Choices

  • Chocolate milk
  • Fruit parfait
  • Yogurt
  • Smoothie
  • Oatmeal

Recipe: Frozen Fruit Smoothie

Ingredients
1 frozen banana, peeled and sliced
2 cups frozen strawberries, raspberries, or cherries
1 cup milk
1/2 cup plain or vanilla yogurt
1/2 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
2 to 3 tablespoons honey or to taste

Directions
Put all the ingredients in a blender and process until smooth. Pour into glasses and serve.
