SOCIAL WORKER SPOTLIGHT!
Why Social Work?
"From a young age, I was drawn to serving others in my church and neighborhood. It wasn't until college that Child Psychology courses and hospital volunteer work led me to the field of social work. After the first social work class, I instantly knew this was the field for me."
What do you love most about School Social Work?
"My passion as a social worker has grown over the years with exciting career experiences. I enjoyed working as a team member to facilitate positive change on all levels including interpersonal, family and organizations. Initially, my main focus was to work with behavior challenged students and their families. As my career progressed, I expanded my concentration to develop and initiate programs that benefited students school-wide to district wide. In retirement, I thoroughly enjoy being an MASSW Board Member and contributing to discussions and planning that supports and promotes the advancement of all school social workers in the state."
