Before Presidency

Ulysses was born on April 27th in 1822. His birthplace was in Point Pleasant, Ohio. His father was Jesse Root Grant and his mother was Hanna Simpson Grant. He had 1 sister and 2 brothers. His education was local schools and the U.S Military Academy at West Point. His religion was a Methodist. His jobs were a: Soldier, Farmer, Real estate agent, Customs house clerk, and a Leather store clerk. He had 3 boys and 1 girl.

During Presidency

Ulysses was president from 1869 to 1877. His political party was the Republicans. His Vice Presidents were Schuyler Colfax and Henry Wilson. His major political events were making a national park, he fought for civil rights, he created the department of justice, and he signed a treaty.

His occupations were: a soldier, Farmer, Real estate agent, Customs house clerk, and a Leather store clerk. He died by throat cancer on July 23 in 1885.
