We will have several stations for parents - they are listed below. We will hand parents a list - please initial it in your box if you meet with them. We need volunteers for popsicles on the playground if you are not in a classroom. Please email me if you can help.
Thank you!!

What do we do during open house?
Our NUMBER ONE goal is to begin to build positive relationships with our families. During open house we want to first and foremost take time to get to know them and let them get to know you.
How can you do this?
- Have a slideshow going that is all about you or all about what they will learn this year
- Set up stations with getting to know you activities
- Be sure you do not sit at your desk...you will need to be off your feet a little, but position yourself in a way that is welcoming and inviting.
- Set up a Hopes and Wishes for 2018-2019
- Find out the passions of your students and families
Things to remember:
- Check transportation with parents - have them fill out the name tag for their child's first day with how their child is getting home
- Carla will have labels and transportation for PM students in your mailboxes. AM students will need to check in at the transportation station.
PTO sign up
Susan Thompson will cover this from 3:30 - 6:00. Susan will be signing parents up for PTO, as well as an outdoor classroom group and a garden group (parents who will come and help weed, weed whack, and keep those areas clean).
Carla's office
We will ask parents to stop in at Carla's office to ensure that their enrollment requirements are met.
Photo Booth
Jen will be taking family pictures for our school family board.
Parents as Teachers
Kari and Lisa will host a PAT booth to sign up new families and give away free books. No volunteers needed.
Popsicles on the playground (Volunteers needed)
We need someone to monitor the playground and pass out popsicles! We need volunteers from 3:00 - 4:00, 4:00 - 5:00, and 5:00 - 6:00. We will have the popsicle hotline wagon outside and ready to go.
Classrooms
Teachers will be in classrooms to meet with families. Teachers - you are welcome to continue working in your rooms between visits.
Bus
A bus driver will be here with a bus. We will also have a bus driver station inside, where parents can verify transportation information and am families will receive their bus routes.
