What Are You Thankful For?

Dear Worthington Park Families,

Needless to say, the news about the return to Remote Learning brought back many emotions for all of our families. While we know this change has added additional logistical and emotional concerns for your families, we firmly believe this is the best way to ensure the continual safety of your children. In the coming days, classroom teachers will be reaching out via email to provide specific information in regards to your child's daily schedules, as well as, Zoom video link instructions. Thank you all for your continual support and flexibility throughout this year. We are Thankful for you!

Just a reminder that we are returning to a later start time while in Remote Learning. Students will be expected to join their class's Zoom sessions at 8:30 am or 12:30 pm based on their color schedule. More information will come for your child's teachers and can be found on our building's website.

  • Staff Members will take attendance during each period of the Online Learning Classes daily.

  • If a student is unable to attend an “Online Class Meeting”, please contact the School’s Attendance Office. If you do not call, you will be contacted by the school, as we typically do..

  • If a student is not able to connect to the Online Learning Class due to internet, wifi, or technology issues, please have your child contact the teacher when he/she regains access to obtain any work or information missed. Parents will need to contact the Attendance Office for your child’s absence to be marked Excused for the period.

  • When calling in an absence, please continue to inform us if your student or family is observing an official quarantine. Your student may still participate in ZOOM meetings if they are/feel able to do so.

While many students brought home needed items either yesterday or today, the need for more materials in December may arise. Worthington Park will be setting up times for you to come to Park to pick up additional supplies and materials your child may need for class. Please continue to check your email for more information about those dates and times (after Thanksgiving.)

***If your child has been out of school this week, and you need to set up a time on Monday or Tuesday of next week to pick up items please contact Principal Garrity at (614)450-5500

Above is a short video from the staff and students of WoPark outlining what they are thankful for this year. If your schedule allows please take a minute to view the video as well as to look at the image of our Thankful Tree below.

If you ordered student pictures, they should be received the first week in December here at the school. We will coordinate with teachers to arrange a pickup time for families and/or distribute as part of our return in January.

Thank you to all families for being flexible with our district COVID reporting protocols and procedures. Please remember that if you, your child, or a member of your family has been in direct exposure to anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19 you do need to report this to our school district via our district website linked here. (We are also asking you to submit a form if a member of your family goes to get a Covid test and you are awaiting the results)

If your child is showing any ill symptoms including fever, sore throat, difficulty breathing, etc. please reach out to our school nurse and keep your child at home. While we do hate having students miss days here at school- your child's safety is our main priority!
