Kids Care Club Meeting - Bucks County Audobon Gets Spooky
Kids Care Club is a Gayman Home and School Club that generally meets once a month after school, with additional school wide activities and on location events.
In past years, our club has had over 100 active members. Each month we use "kid power" to help needy organizations in our local community. Kids can attend as little or as often as they like.
Last year we worked with the local Audubon Society, a children's hospital, a wild animal shelter, food bank, sick children's fund, nursing home and women's shelter. Our meetings are hands on, interactive and educational. Our kids do "fun" fundraising and sometimes the whole school participates for a worthy cause.
THIS MONTH...
OUR OCTOBER THEME is "Bucks County Audubon Gets Spooky"
Come and join Diane Smith from the Audubon Society as they get ready for their annual "Haunted Trails" event. Our club will be making spooky pumpkins, learning how to help our Bucks County Environment and creating original art work that will be on display for their spooky fundraiser.
When: Thursday, October 8th
Where: In the library
Time: 3:15 - 4:30 PM; please note forms must be returned by Monday, October 5th

Calling All Bakers!!!
The library is looking for volunteers to donate baked goods to the library bake sale at Book Fair Family Night (October 7: 3:30-7:30). The proceeds from the bake sale provide the library the flexibility to purchase small items we need during the year including:

Materials to create felt boards for Kindergarten and first grade students;
Seasonal decorations for the library.
Please e-mail Mrs. Thomas (hthomas@cbsd.org) if you are interested in donating an item for the sale.
All donations can be dropped off at the office or brought to the library on the day of the sale.
Please try to individually bag or wrap cookies/brownies. Cupcakes do not need to be bagged.

This year, Gayman will continue to accept nominations for the Boomerang Award, which is our way of honoring students who best demonstrate their own developmental assets. What are Developmental Assets? Students possessing a combination of “40 Assets” are typically most successful in school and in life. These assets have the power to influence choices young people make and help them become caring, responsible adults. For a complete listing of the 40 Developmental Assets visit: http://www.search-institute.org
September: #26 - CARING. Young person places high value on helping other people. He/she thinks about ways of helping others and is motivated to initiate kind and thoughtful acts.
