Water Characteristics
Adhesion-The force of attraction between unlike molecules, or the attraction between the surfaces of contacting bodies.
Cohesion-the act or state if sticking together.
Polarity-the property of having poles
Heat Storage- the storage of solar energy during the day, when it is often abundant, for use at a later time
pH-measure of hydrogen ion concentration
Macaromolecules
The 3 types are Carbohydrates, Proteins, and Lipids.
Carbohydrates
The 2 types of are simple and complex carbohydrates.
The function of carbohydrates is the storage and transport of energy and structural components.
Proteins
Proteins have amino acids.
Lipids
They are any organic compound that have fatty acids.
They are used for long term energy.
There are saturated fats, unsaturated fats, monosaturated fats, and polyunsaturated fats.
Nucleic Acids
It is a complex organic substance present in living cells.
The two types of this are RNA and DNA.
The function is to store and transmit genectic material.
Enzymes
They break down food, building blocks for our body, proteins.
