December 2, 2022

Oh my gosh!! How is it DECEMBER???!!

Aviators,

How is it December already?! Time must fly when we're having fun!

It is already the Interim reporting period and students are well in the groove of their school year. We are looking toward the dance on 12/16 (info below) and already talking about next years bell schedule, open house, and opening transition days for the next school year. Our Winter Athletics have started and we have upcoming concerts happening in the coming days.

This week's newsletter has a lot of great information for upcoming events, opportunities, and celebrations. We hope you enjoy it as much as you do your weekend.

Happy Friday everyone!

-Mrs. Schunk, Mr. Meyer, Mr. Cole

Honor Roll Corrections

Last week we published the Junior High Honor Roll. Due to a discrepancy in a technical software program we did have students who were not recognized for this honor. The following students have also earned Honor Roll Honors. Please help me congratulate these students and all the others who were previously recognized.

  • Chloe Fox
  • Sieun Ghim
  • Logan Ho
  • Brett Robbins
  • Sahana Siddharth

The Junior High Honor Roll is compiled by the counselors at the end of each grading period. The list includes the names of those students who have achieved an overall average of 3.4 or better in all courses. A letter grade of D or F in any subject automatically disqualifies a student from the honor roll.

Halfway through the Quarter (Interim's)

This week marks the halfway point in the quarter and would be a good time to sit with your student and look through each of their grades using Parent Portal. If you are seeing a pattern of missing work or low quiz/test scores, please have the student reach out to the teacher and/or their counselor about getting help.

If as a parent you want to get notifications when there is a missing assignment or low grade, watch THIS VIDEO.

Student Technology Reminder

Reminder about student expectations. Students must come to school prepared daily with a fully charged Chromebook. We are running out of loaners and chargers to loan out each day. Students get an office referral after they borrow three times.

Students also need to come with their earbuds or any other technology/supplies that their teachers require.

We have noticed an increase in student forgetfulness about school readiness.

Support OGB

Sycamore Bridges is excited to partner with Operation Give Back to help fill their annual Holiday Store for the third year in a row! Sycamore Bridges and OGB recognize the added financial struggle for many of our neighborhood families around the holidays. OGB is gearing up to provide assistance to over 900 children and their families this holiday season. We created a gigantic Amazon Registry to make sure every child receives something they requested. This list will be updated frequently, so please check back often! Just select the "Sycamore Bridges" shipping address when checking out and your gift will be sent directly to us. (If you would like a tax receipt for your purchase, please send an email to sycamore@neighborhoodbridges.org. Receipts will not be emailed unless requested.) Thank you for your continued support in making sure all of our neighbors have a memorable holiday season. Amazon Registry
