A socialist movement that takes place and is dominant in Russia. Americans are afraid that America will fall to communism. Creating hysteria in the U.S and causing communist hunts in neighborhoods and cities

Ford is one of the first to make a car that everyone could afford. He perfected the assembly line making cars cheaper. He changed the ways of transportation during the times
3) Automobile 2: the new world of auto mobility
It changed society by replacing carriages making the Model T the new source of transportation. It led to the building of suburbs because of the commute to work. Also everyone had one because of the perfected assembly line thanks to Ford
4) The mass media 1: Radio
When radios came around music was played all around. Sports were also broadcasted on the radio. Also news or shows were played on the radio
5) The mass media 2: The birth of movies and movie stars
Silent movies were played on projectors. Famous movie stars came to be after being seen in films. Movies or shows were even played on the radio
6) Changing roles of women
Flappers were seen as rebellious and trouble makers because they went against social norms. They cut their hair short, showed their ankles, smoked, and partied. But their fight to have women's suffrage continued after the war but soon they got it as a reward
7) Evolution and Scopes trials
Since evolution is a scientific idea religious groups and schools have banned it. Mr. Scopes was accused of teaching kids the theory of evolution and was tried. Great minds came together to both prosecute and defend him but he eventually lost.
8) Fighting racism
The importance of the NAACP was that this group tried to make advancements for colored folk. Marcus Garvey is the founder and leader of the UNIA. The UNIA is a black nationalist group
9) Jazz age 1
Jazz came from a place called Harlem. Many musicians played jazz like Louie Armstrong. Jazz was a soothing sound and also a very dancy type of genre

One jazz musician was Louis Armstrong. He was a famous jazz musician. He created songs like "wonderful world, go Down Moses and Mack the knife"

Surrealism was one of the art styles during the Harlem Renaissance. It sought to link the dream world with reality. "The persistence of memory" is an example of surrealism.
12) poets of the Harlem Renaissance
Langston Hughes was one of the poets of the Harlem Renaissance. He helped lay down the foundation of the post ww 2 civil rights movement. He's written many poems such as "The negro speaks of rivers" and " The weary blues"

Charles Lindbergh was one of the first pilots to fly across the Atlantic Ocean to England. America wanted to be the first to gain the achievement before anyone else. Charles Lindbergh was a not so experienced pilot who had a tiny plane with one engine when he competed against better. During his time planes were still a new technology still kind of in their testing stage.
14) American sports
Babe Ruth was a famous baseball player. America loved him because he was one of the best players in baseball. They would broadcast baseball on radios so people can hear babe Ruth play.
15) Organized Crime
Crime was tough in Chicago a lot of organized crime sprees were committed. Mobs and mobsters were created and crimes were st by these guys. Al Capone attained fame during the Prohibition era as the co founder and boss of the Chicago outfit.
16) racism and Nativism in the 20's
The klu klux klan was a big white superiority group. They targeted both immigrants and African Americans. Their recruitment was high during this time.
17) immigration restriction
Immigrants were limited when being brought into America. The law set a quota of how many immigrants of a particular race could enter. It was thought to limit foreigners from coming in and settling.
