About Children's Mental Health Awareness Week/Day
May 1-5, 2017
Children’s Mental Health Awareness Day was developed to raise awareness about the importance of children's mental health, to let people know that positive mental health is important for a child’s healthy development, to help people realize that it is ok to get help, and to let people know where they can go for help.
Green is the official color for National Children's Mental Health Awareness Week. We use the color green because it symbolizes growth, support, health, healing and hope. Green is known to have positive body and mind effects such as promoting relaxation, calmness, comfort and healthy heart function. Green also helps calm emotions. Green is for peace, harmony, and balance.
