SHISD Mid-Week Message
Promoting great things about a great school district!
Along life's path we plant trees under whose shade we do not expect to sit, we sow seeds, the results of which we may or may not see.
Nelson Henderson is credited with that quote. As educators, we spend the majority of our time "planting seeds" With the hope that some day a mighty tree will grow whose branches spread out and influence others. As our students grow and move on, we lose touch and don't always get to see fruits of our labor. When we do it's powerful and reaffirming.
A blog was shared with me this week from one of my former students. She was one of the most talented fine arts students I think I have ever had the pleasure of knowing, and she was so much more than that. I also had the pleasure of knowing her parents and brothers. They are an amazing family. I think her words are much more powerful than mine this week, so I offer her message to lift us up a little this week. Kayln is a very talented singer, model, and actress who has stayed very grounded. She was the winning model in Project Runway - Season 6; and had several TV roles, magazine covers, and even stared in some music videos. I of course take no credit for her success, she has two amazing parents and had several great teachers along the way. I'm just along for the ride. Her blog "The Golden Thread of God's Goodness" is linked below.
Short message this week.
Kudos
