Ag Mech Spotlight
The Wylie Ag Mechanics classes have been very busy for the school year. Students have taken a different approach this year on projects that they have constructed during class time. Individual based projects have been the idea for this school year and the students have put in a lot of time and effort into those.
Mr. Cody Smith took over the Ag Mechanics classes after Mr. Moore took a teaching position at Jim Ned ISD. Mr Smith had this to say about his classes this year, “It’s been a fun year and I’m very pleased on how well the students worked this year in the shop. They really took to the idea of individual based projects and the ownership of them. My goal for next school year is to get the students back to the Ag Mechanics Contests at the major shows.”

Need a job? Want to intern? Need volunteer hours?
Have you caught someone being a Bulldog?
Have you caught a student or a WHS staff member "Being a Bulldog"? We want to hear about it!
What is being a Bulldog? The American Kennel Club describes a Bulldog as kind but courageous, full of tenacity, friendly, and loyal companions. It is fitting that we are the Wylie Bulldogs because those are the qualities we strive for our campus to exude.
We believe that it is important to recognize those that are examples of kindness, friendliness, loyalty, and courage. Students and staff members can be nominated by students, staff, and community members. It is the hope of WHS that Bulldogs will inspire other Bulldogs to continue to show these characteristics. Nominate someone here!
STAAR Test News for High School
The Texas Education Agency DID NOT waive the passing of STAAR EOC exams for graduation requirements, so all students enrolled in tested subjects will need to take the STAAR EOC exam this spring. The STAAR tests for English 1 and English 2 are coming up next week on Tuesday, April 6th (English 1) and Thursday, April 8th (English 2) . Please do not schedule any doctor's appointments or other activities on these dates. You will need to bring pencils and be ready to do your best! Remember that you are required to pass these STAAR tests to graduate. On Thursday English 1 and English 2 teachers will have room assignments if you are testing. On Monday, ALL students will need to check the trophy case in the cafeteria to see if your class is being relocated due to using your room for testing. Read the state's release here.
At-Home Learners
If you are an At-Home Learner and enrolled in one of the tested subjects, you will need to come to school the day of the test. AHL will check in at the front desk and be sent to the office. The office will give each student their assigned room for testing. At-Home Learners may leave campus after dismissal from the test.
On-Campus Learners
If you are an On-Campus Learner and enrolled in one of the tested subjects, room assignments and instructions will be given to you by your teacher(s) and posted at school.
