I want to share an update from your Daycare Committee. Last summer we put together a task force to consider and revise the responsibilities of our Daycare Committee. In the Fall we voted to approve their recommendations and appointed a new Committee.

Over the last 5 months your new Daycare Committee has been very active. They have provided support and directive oversight for our Daycare Director, observed classroom instruction and curriculum, considered and replaced worn-out equipment, and built a storage closet. They are currently considering a proposal to resurface the church playground. The Committee with the help of Kerina Kirby has closely watched finances and made decisions to keep our expenses lower than our income. For the first time since I’ve been at EBC, our Daycare is in strong financial shape!

One of the assignments we gave our new Daycare Committee was to provide us as a church opportunities to bless both our Daycare employees as well as the families that are enrolled. YOU have 2 upcoming opportunities to be a blessing.

First, this Sunday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. in the Atrium, we are hosting a Toy Shower for the Daycare. Because the toys are used daily, they often need to be replaced. See below for more details about the shower. The second way you can be a blessing is to participate in the Family Fun Night, on Friday April 28th from 6:00-8:00. As a church we will serve concessions to the families and our employees. We will also be putting together gift bags for them.

I’m grateful for our Daycare Committee and their hard work. Please express your appreciation when you see them - Raelene Amen, Stacy Selsor, Sandy Stark, Butch Miller, Lauren Margerum, and Richard Metscher. We are also grateful for Donna Smith (our Director) and Kerina Kirby (our Bookkeeper). These people are developing an operation to which we can proudly attach our church name. Our Church Nursery/Daycare are in need of new toys. There are two ways you can help! The first way is you can donate gently used or new like toys. The second way to help is to purchase new items from our registry.

Please bring your donations to the shower.
