Garfield Re-2 celebrates another clean audit!

In November, the fiscal year 2018 audit was successfully completed.

The independent auditor encountered no difficulties in performing and completing the audit, found no material misstatements, and had no disagreements with management.

In the auditor's opinion, the financial statements present fairly the financial position and activities of the district. The Garfield Re-2 school board approved the audited financial report at their board meeting on December 4, 2018. Thank you and congratulations to everyone who helped support the audit activities.

The audit will be posted online shortly under the Financial Transparency section of the Garfield Re-2 website.

Up on the rooftop lands a Family Support Specialist for Re-2

Welcome Joseline Rivas to Garfield Re-2. Joseline has joined our team as a Family Support Specialist!

This position is funded primarily through a grant called the “Colorado Community Response” program. The Roaring Fork School District and Garfield Department of Human Services helped this position become a reality. In this role, Joseline will provide comprehensive voluntary services for families in Garfield Re-2 who have been reported to child protective services but screened out and/or had their case closed after initial assessment. Joseline attended Re-2, graduated in 2010 and was also a paraprofessional here in Rifle.

She is passionate about helping families and is excited to be the Family Support Specialist for the Re-2 district! She gets her referrals through the Department of Human Services, so you may see her in your schools, meeting with and supporting families.
