Handicap Parking...Friendly Reminder

Please remember that in order to park in one of the 4 handicap parking spots in the front parking lot, you must have a handicap license plate or placard hanging from your rearview mirror. If you do not have the proper identification to park in one of the spots, you will be asked to move your vehicle to allow our visitors that need those spots to park.

Thank you for your assistance!

Family Fun Night - September 6th

Join us on Wednesday night for Family Fun Night! The night will kick off with PTO meeting and dinner (hot dogs and pulled pork sandwiches) from 5:00-6:00 pm in the cafeteria. Join our PTO Board Members as they talk about the exciting events happening this year, volunteer needs, fundraising efforts, as well as how the PTO supports our students and teachers.

Immediately following the PTO meeting, parents will join their child's teacher to learn all about what goes on during the school day. Teachers will review curriculum, grading policies, and homework, as well as answer any questions you have regarding your child. In order to accommodate families that have children in different grade levels, there will be two sessions offered for each grade level. Session one is 6:00-6:30 pm, and session two is 6:30-7:00 pm.

We can't wait to see you on Wednesday!!

Spirit Friday

September 8th is the first home Varsity football game of the season, and LVES is excited to welcome the football players to our campus that morning! So, don't forget to show your spirit by wearing Viking gear and/or Viking colors on Friday. The class in each grade level that shows the most spirit wins an ice cream coupon from Sonic and bragging rights until the next week.

Go Vikings!

2nd Grade Attends LVHS Pep Rally on September 8th at 10:45 am!

Returning Student Registration Forms

Welcome back, Vikings! Each year, all families are asked to confirm or update information for each child attending a Lago Vista ISD school. We are excited to announce that parents will no longer be required to complete registration forms by hand, nor will students be asked to bring these forms back and forth between school and home.

Beginning this year, all registration forms will be distributed, signed, and submitted electronically. Your completed forms will be submitted with a digital signature. Your digital signature and the document you sign are encrypted together and bound with a tamper-evident seal.

In the next few days, you will receive an emailed Adobe form packet from Lago Vista ISD Registration. Please complete all forms in their entirety. If you have multiple students enrolled in Lago Vista ISD, you will receive registration forms for each student.

PLEASE NOTE: Adobe will auto-generate a daily reminder email until the form packet is submitted. Forms will expire 7 days after sending.

For questions related to student registration and enrollment or if you do not receive a returning student form packet by Monday, please contact the campus of enrollment at (512) 267-8300.

Again, we welcome you back to Lago Vista ISD and look forward to a great year!

Transportation Changes

If you need to make a change to your child's after school transportation, please make sure you notify Mrs. Harris in the front office by phone, email or note. If Mrs. Harris does not receive a transportation change, your child will go home according to the Master Transportation sheet you filled out at Meet The Teacher Night. Remember that transportation changes must be in before noon to give the office time to process changes and get notices to students and teachers.

Watch DOG Kick-off Event

We are excited to have the Watch DOG program back again for the 2017-2018 school year. This is a wonderful volunteer opportunity for dads, grandfathers, uncles, and brothers to be a positive male role model for our Vikings by being an extra set of hands, eyes and ears in the classrooms and on campus. There will be an informational session on September 20th at 8:15 am for those interested in serving as a Watch DOG this year. Reservation forms will go home soon in Friday folders with more information.

Want to Volunteer?

We appreciate volunteers at LVES, and would love to have you on our campus. If you are interested in volunteering in any capacity at LVES (field trips, Watch DOGS, Room Parent, PTO, Friday Folder parent, etc), you must fill out a volunteer application and go through a background check. This application must be filled out yearly. Here is the link for the volunteer application:

Due to the amount of applications received at the beginning of the year, please allow up to 2 weeks for applications and background checks to be processed.

Character Trait of the Month - Responsibilty

September's Character Trait is Responsibility. Here are ways that students can demonstrate Responsibility:

  • Do what you are supposed to do;
  • Plan ahead;
  • Persevere: keep trying!;
  • Always do your best;
  • Use self-control;
  • Be self-disciplined;
  • Think before you act - consider the consequences;
  • Be accountable for your words, actions, and attitudes;
  • Set a good example for other;
  • Understand your actions and words matter

Students will learn more about Responsibility in Guidance with Mrs. Sexton!

Counselor's Corner

Hello LVES Families! In our counselor guidance classes this month, students will be learning about the character trait of Responsibility. I will be teaching what it means to be a responsible person--by doing what you are supposed to do, planning ahead, always doing your best, using self-control, being accountable for your words, actions, and attitudes, and setting a good example for others. We are discussing ways children can show responsibility at home, at school, with friends, and in their community.

At home, you can talk with your child about responsibility, and teach them that by doing chores, answering for their own actions, being trustworthy, and using good judgment are signs that they are growing up and can be trusted with greater freedom! Try to "catch" your child making responsible choices, and let them know how much it means to you.
"The greatest gifts you can give your children are the roots of responsibility and the wings of independence." ~Denis Waitley

Weekly Attendance Goal

Grade levels that have the highest overall attendance percentage at the end of the grading period receives a special treat from Mrs. Jackson and Mr. Holt. For more information on the attendance law (it's not a LVISD law, but a state law), and what is an excused or unexcused absence, click on the following links:'s_the_LAW.pdf
