Rabbi Ronald Broden did not start out his service to the Jewish community by being a rabbi. Instead, Rabbi Ronald Broden was first ordained as a cantor. After attending Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion and graduating with his Master's in Sacred Music and Investiture, Rabbi Ronald Broden worked for some time as just a cantor. Then Rabbi Ronald Broden realized that he wanted to do more for the Jewish community and so returned to school, to Mesifta Adas Wolkowisk/The Rabbinical Academy of Woodmere New York to be ordained as a rabbi.


Even though Rabbi Ronald Broden now wears two hats, Rabbi Ronald Broden has found that his work is actually easier now. When he is asked to prepare a ceremony, Rabbi Ronald Broden can now do it all, from creating the order of the service to arranging the music. It does mean that Rabbi Ronald Broden has to manage his time according and not overbook himself, but Rabbi Ronald Broden loves being as involved as his two roles allow him to be.


Besides his work within the synagogue, Rabbi Ronald Broden is considered an expert on Ladino music and gives lectures on Jewish music. Further, Rabbi Ronald Broden performs civil wedding ceremonies, performs in Off Broadway shows, and can be found brushing up on his Spanish and Italian. Rabbi Ronald Broden enjoys arranging temple choral festival, teaching Hebrew on the high school level, and playing his guitar. Currently, Rabbi Ronald Broden is serving as cantor at Shaarei Shalom in Riverdale, NY.

Rabbi Ronald Broden began his work in the Jewish community as a cantor graduating from Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion with his Masters in Sacred Music and Investiture. Later, Rabbi Ronald Broden returned to his studies to become a rabbi, graduating from Mesifta Adas Wolkowisk/The Rabbinical Academy of Woodmere New York. Rabbi Ronald Broden has served Jewish communities in Queens, Long Island, and Riverdale, NY.
