2020-2021 School Year Reopening Plan - Board Recap (Feb 16th)
2020-2021 School Year Reopening Plan: Superintendent Kellerer presented options for bringing secondary students back full-time. She noted that not all staff who want to have been able to be fully vaccinated due to the scarcity of vaccine. March 15 is the earliest estimate for this to happen. March 29 was recommended for return because it is after spring break and the start of the fourth quarter. Kuna, Caldwell and Vallivue have not yet decided to move secondary out of hybrid. Concerns and potential barriers were presented. Staff and high school students who were surveyed preferred returning to four days per week after spring break. Both groups were almost evenly split between returning to four days per week or staying in hybrid. A parent focus group also was consulted. The district’s recommendation was to bring secondary students back for four days a week beginning March 29. The board voted to accept this recommendation.

Monday February 22nd – Regular X Day for students
Friday March 19th - No School (Teacher Work Day)
Monday March 22nd to Friday March 26th – Spring Break
Monday March 29th – Students return to 4-day school week (Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri)
