Only 4 weeks left of 2020...

Notes From the Principal:

I would like to wish everyone a happy holiday season as we bring 2020 to a close. I hope you and your families have an enjoyable break and find time to spend relaxing with your family. As we head into 2021, I ask that our students of Kraft Meadows continue to strive and perform at a high level of excellence in all that they do each and every day. Great things are happening at Kraft Meadows and we are excited about the learning that will take place in 2021. Thanks for your continued support and please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns. Happy holidays and have a great start to a fresh new year!

We’ve made it to the last month of 2020. Some of you are probably thinking, “Good Riddance!” and I get that. As we head into 2021, how can we prepare our children and ourselves for a fresh start? What do you need to feel rejuvenated because, let’s face it- 2020 put us at whits end.

In hindsight, notice what good came of the challenges we faced this year. Take a second to give yourself a pat on the back. Then take time to notice what is different. How can you find ways to cope or create a new opportunity for growth? How can we encourage our kids to cope and create new opportunities for growth?

Use this month to reconnect with family and friends, spend time with your loved ones, do a little retail therapy, get outside, drink your coffee while it’s hot, and be proud of all you’ve accomplished this year. You, our Kraft Meadows parents, are appreciated and deserve the coming winter break at the end of this month to just love on your kids.

Wishing you and your family the happiest of holidays!

P.S. Despite the merriment and joy that's illuminated this season, we know the holiday season can be especially difficult for some individuals. We encourage you to reach out if your child needs extra support during the holiday season. See our contact information below.

On another note, I know you have received the invite to attend Dr. Martin’s forum on the Social Dilemma (second link below) December 10 @ 7-8pm. Dr. Nicole Beurkens is a local Counselor that I have collaborated with, who regularly offers parenting advice. As we consider the Social Dilemma, she offers tips for communicating etiquette online. You might find it valuable to view (see the first link below).

The winners of the classroom Spelling Bees will move on to the KMMS Spelling Bee. The KMMS Spelling Bee will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 13th beginning at 8am in the Library this year. Unfortunately we will not be able to have any parents watch this year due to COVID. If you have any questions please email Mrs. Maas at

Please be specific and detailed as to why your student is home ill. With an increase in students absent, this will help us to keep better records.

If anyone in your household is getting Covid testing, ALL people living in the household must stay home until a negative test is returned. Please do not send your students to school. Please contact Mrs. Hullinger in the Support Room if your child is absent for this reason. Your child may return to school with a copy of the negative test. This may be emailed to (

If a household member tests positive, please let the school know immediately so we can be prepared if any contact tracing is necessary, update the attendance with excused absences and assess the date your child may return to school based on the Health Department's recommendations. To be clear, this could be up to 24 days as the positive individual should Isolate for 10 days and the others should remain quarantined for an additional 14 days to wait out becoming symptomatic.

To help our transportation department, please contact the bus garage if your child will be absent for an extended period of time due to contact tracing or illness.

All student-athletes are required to be registered in our online athletic registration program. We are partnered with FinalForms, an online forms and data management service. FinalForms allows you to complete and sign athletic participation forms for your students online. The most exciting news is that FinalForms saves data from season-to-season and year-to-year, meaning that you will never need to enter the same information twice! You will review your information once per school year to verify the information is correct and sign the forms. Please take a moment and sign up your athlete for the upcoming 2020-21 Sports seasons. Using FinalForms is a one stop shop for the entire registration process. Please use the Athlete Registration link that is provided on the Athletics Homepage and create a new account under the "Parent Login" portion. On the Athletics homepage, you will also see a link for the "Parent Playbook" which gives you step by step instructions through the registration process. You do not need to pay the athletic fee until the season you are registering your athletic for begins. The registration link is:

There is an Athletic fee of $75.00 per athlete per season, with a $250.00 limit collected per family, per academic year. (Middle School participation fees are separate from high school fees.)

Bittersweet Cards are on sale now! Be sure to get them soon, so you do not miss a day on the slopes. Sales will occur as long as we are face to face. If we go virtual, sales will stop until we are back face to face. You can find more information and forms at the following webpage:
