Looking Ahead: MLHS Homecoming Dance. Oct. 15
2022 Homecoming Dance tickets will go on sale on Wednesday, Sept. 28.
Important Information about this dance:
Each student may purchase a ticket for themselves only.
Dance Tickets may be purchased for MLHS students 3 ways: at the door, in person at the Cashier's station in the front office or online using the MLHS Payment Portal.
For MLHS students who wish to invite a guest from outside of the MLHS School District, they must complete the following process:
If you would like to invite a Guest from outside of the Moses Lake School District a Guest Pass Form is required. Here's the Link to Guest Pass Form or the form is available to pick up at the front desk at MLHS. Have the guest complete the form, which includes getting a signature from their home school's administrator. Then, their MLHS student host will return the completed form to the MLHS cashier and/or school receptionist and purchase two tickets (student & guest) at that time.
No out of district guest pass tickets will be sold at the door on Oct. 15. For in district students, (Digital, Vanguard) they will follow the same process above, with the exception that in-district guests are not required to have an MLHS student host. (The in-district guest pass form is available at this link and their MLSD home school.) Both in-district and out of district guest pass students will be required to purchase their tickets at MLHS with the Cashier, due to the requirement of the guest pass form. An in-district guest pass holder (Vanguard, Digital) may not bring another out of district guest to the dance, since they are already a guest of the dance. If the in-district students do not have any student ID, it is recommended that they copy their skyward profile page and attach it to their guest pass form. The lines for entrance into the dance are always very long and so that would assist our dance staff in getting students into the dance quickly.

Deliveries to the front office
While we will gladly accept and hold items for students dropped off by parents and others (lunches/doordash, school or sports items, etc), our front office staff asks that you refrain from dropping off celebration items such as balloons and flowers. In all cases of student deliveries, we ask that the parent notify their student that they dropped something off at the office for them. We will not make any delivery to a student's classroom nor will we be able to alert the student of the delivery.

Lunch @ MLHS
Beginning this year, student lunch periods are now 30 minutes long, plus 5 minutes' passing time at the beginning and end of each lunch, totalling 40 minutes. Students are able to use their student ID cards to scan their student number into skyward and thus speed up the pace of the lunch line. Grades 10-12 may leave campus, which some do, and they are generally returning back to campus in time for their period 4 classes. Grade 9 has the B or second lunch session and they have been great about staying on campus and making it to their period 5 classes on time. We are already seeing benefits with this change in how we do student lunches. Student attendance in the afternoon classes appears to have improved and the number of off campus safety incidents appears to have decreased.
The kitchen staff leave the food service counters open for the entire lunch periods. However, we have found that the lunch lines have all been served within 10-15 minutes following the ringing of the first bell for lunch.
Some industrious students have put in orders for doordash or other food delivery services. We will not turn away a food delivery if it arrives early. Students may collect their lunch delivery at the front desk, although they generally are successful in connecting with their food order out on the front curb.
For Grade 9, if a parent wishes to take their student off campus during the lunch period, we require the standard MLHS protocol of the parent coming into the building and signing their student out, with the student signing back in once they return.
10-12th grade lunch line ~ 10 minutes into the A lunch
9th Grade Lunch line ~ 10 minutes into the B Lunch
All students received a MLHS Lanyard and card sleeve so they can use their ID card at the lunch line.
MLHS Lanyard/ID Card
All students need to bring their student ID card to school each day. It is preferred that the lanyard and card are visible on their person as they arrive at school.
