When the bones are good, the rest doesn't matter.

Happy Friday!

There is a song by Maren Morris called "The Bones." I heard this song on the way home from work yesterday, and it got me thinking about next week's parent-teacher conferences. The foundation of a successful school experience exists when there is a strong partnership between the school and home. These conferences are opportunities for teachers to share strengths and areas of improvement for each child, both academically and socially. It is also an opportunity for parents to share insight into their children's qualities, passions, and motivators. We (CSA Lincoln staff) can utilize that information to further improve their experience at school. CSA Lincoln has had a very high percentage of parents attend these conferences over the past several years, and we hope to continue that trend this year. As the song says, when the bones are good, the rest doesn't matter. As long as we enjoy open communication between teachers and students, everything else will work itself out.

  • Next Wednesday, October 2nd is Walk to School Day! This is one of my favorite days of the year. We will start walking from the Mill Race Parking lot at 7:30 a.m. I will be there by 7:15 a.m. for those needing to drop-off. We will walk down 5th Street and all Husky families and friends are welcome to join us!
  • I spent part of today in Carmel for the INASLA 2019 Conference on Landscape Architecture. CSA Lincoln's playground and our architect Randy Royer received an award the Merit Award from the American Society of Landscape Architects!
  • Water Bottles are coming home today or Monday. These are for all CSA Lincoln students!

Have a great weekend,

POKEMON-Fun at Home!

My approval rating among students will tank with this decision, but starting after Fall Break, Pokemon cards will join the ranks of fidget spinners and slime on the banned list. In other words, please keep them at home. Insider trading, unauthorized trading, and disagreements over these cards have started to consume our time. One grade level has already banned the cards because they have become a distraction. We will go ahead and make this a K-6 decision. Thank you for your cooperation!

If the answer is yes, please consider donating your gently loved books (picture books - YA) to the PTO to pass along to all the book lovers attending our free Book Bingo event! The donation box will be labeled and located right inside the front entrance doors near the big husky paw.
