PicCollage Challenge
"PARTY with Your Photos!"
PicCollage looks pretty awesome on Twitter, but it also has many uses for the classroom. Think of all things you could do with images and text boxes that are this easy to create. Let’s take a look:
The lower left corner gives you layout options. You can choose one or leave it free flowing for added creativity.
When you open PicCollage, you come to this screen. It says “Tap anywhere to add a photo”.
However, when you tap, you get a menu like this:
- The green circle allows you to add a photo from your camera roll. You can add multiple photos by choosing them. You will know which photos you selected by the green frame around the pic. There will also be a number in the upper right hand corner beside the checkmark telling you how many photos you have chosen. You'll tap the checkmark when you're finished selecting your photos.
- The blue circle will allow you to import web images and the red button will allow a YouTube link. These are not things we will be working on for this challenge.
- The pink circle will give you options to add text. You have the option to change the style, color, and background color. Please take a few minutes to play with these features.
- The yellow circle is for stickers. There are no stickers preloaded and if you want them, you have to create a PicCollage account. This is a free account and you can then download free stickers. However, there are stickers you can purchase if you so choose. There isn’t a need to do any of this unless you choose to do so.
- The purple circle gives many cute backgrounds. There are seasonal, solid colors, and fun patterns. Please take a minute to test out some of the backgrounds.
Additional Tips
- You can adjust the size of text boxes and photos by using two fingers to pinch or spread the boxes.
- By tapping on any photo, text box, or sticker, you can move it to the front or the back of surrounding objects.
- You may also choose from several templates which will automatically arrange your photos.
Once you are finished with your PicCollage, there is a box with arrow pointing up in the bottom right corner. Tap it and save it to your library.
