Religion is Shaping our Society

How Religion formed history and is going to shape the future

"Is that what you really think... or is that what they'd want you to think?"

V said this to Evey, when they were in V's cave. It was regarding on how the government controlled Evey's mindset on certain things. It relates to Dystopian because it uses brainwashing and mind manipulation to those people who were being ruled. In the world we live today, the government still manipulates us by giving us false information on certain events. They do this because they want us to live the American dream not knowing someones elses life was lost because of it.

School Sonnet

In school they suggest the outfits Colored blue and white

Everyday we walk when the school bell rings

They tell us to be on time and not run in the hallways

They make us watch televised news

They want us to go to sporting events

They give out punishments; such as Detention, ISS, and OSS

They make us take certain courses in order to graduate

They make us take the Gateway

that's only done in this school

And if you fail you could not leave High School

The administration speak in speakers

They tell us to remain silent in the Moment of Silence

They tell us not to show physical affection in the hallways

It molds us

Our Dystopian Society

Dystopia is a society characterized by human misery and oppression. A Dystopian world is controlled by a government that can do no wrong. We live in a world today in where the government can check and see what we do in our daily lives. Our modern day in where we now use cellular and Gps tracking devices that the government can use to spy on each and every single one of us.

According to the article "Big Data, Meet Big Brother"; that you cant delete anything ever. The government is using Big Data to monitor known criminal's movement, they can monitor every citizen if they wanted to but the government don't do it because they don't have time to monitor millions of people all in one time. Although it is possible to know if a criminal is going to act before they do-and arrest them before they can even commit a crime. If the government thinks you are of a suspicion they can monitor you and stop you if you do even commit a crime.

Living in a dystopian society has its up's and down's. its upside is; the government can monitor criminals and suspected terrorists but you can't really do this without breaking someone else's right.

Relating to 1984

My radio by stars is a good theme song to be patterned with 1984. This song was designed for the Cold war, a nuclear apocalypse that we never got. "My radio" conjured the image of listeners who cluster each night around a radio to listen to their favorite DJ, only to pull back and realize that they're living in a world that's gone very wrong. "It's hard to remember days. Mornings lost in a chronic haze." The days in where the world was sane. The song also speaks of a voice, in which he kisses this voice each night, it can refer as Julia in 1984. The song also portrays on how he wanted "a room somewhere far away from the chemo air" it can refer as the apartment where Winston and Julia slept. "All day long I fantasize in the dark behind other people's eyes, and then they slowly disappear, words get lost in the atmosphere" these 2 lines explain how every citizen is mind-controlled by the government, and everyone is living a lie.

"My Radio (AM Mix)"

It's hard to remember days
Mornings lost in a chronic haze
Breath is fast and the trains are slow
I barely feel it though
All day long I fantasize in the dark behind other people's eyes
And then they disappear, words get lost in the atmosphere

The truth I'll tell, I'll tell the truth
Sixteen on a summer roof
You ask for facts, well I'll give you proof

Hot sun on skin
That crimson dress too thin
All winter up her woods
I touched it, it felt good

All I want is my radio
All I want is my radio

He speaks in a voice I know
Sounds like sand when the tide is low
We kiss to that voice each night
Bathed in bare reactor light
I cry when the morning comes
Count my blessings and my thumbs
Say "thanks God" for whatever comes
And quickly cross my fingers

All I want is a room somewhere
Far away from the chemo air
And when I go my radio
Will play a melody that lingers

All I want is my radio
Station ninety-nine point O (99.0)
Tell the DJ: "DJ, keep it slow"
Light to fade before you know

It's hard to remember days
Mornings lost in a chronic haze
Breath is fast and the trains are slow
Barely even feel it though
All day long I fantasize in the dark behind other people's eyes
And then they slowly disappear, words get lost in the atmosphere

The truth I'll tell, I'll tell, I'll tell the truth
Sixteen on a summer roof
You ask for facts, well I'll give you proof
Here's the truth

All I want is my radio [x20]
Tell the DJ, "DJ, keep it slow"
Light to fade before you know...

We will wear all black and lift up a humongous banner showing oppression is unjust. Speakers will be placed on the right side of the White House, it'll play "My radio" by stars. Don't forget to make your own flyers, banners, and posters. Let our voices be heard!

Dystopian Trends

Clothing has been a dystopian trend in our society. The trends are usually done by Celebrities or by the "popular kids". Whether how absurd the trend is, people still try to follow them. Lately the trend that has been going out nowadays, is how well can you look like a hipster and wear hipster clothes and do hipster things. People wants to be in the "it" crowd and do the things other people do to make them feel sane. And if you don't follow the crowd, it'll make you "unpopular"
