The Triton Tribune Parent Edition
Be Kind ~ Be Awesome ~ Make The Right Choices
Volume 2 ~ Issue 1 ~ July 27, 2020
Wonderful Triton Parent/Guardians and Students,
Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year! I hope that you have enjoyed your much-deserved break!
With the unusual end to the 2019-20 school year, I am so proud our teachers and their professional commitment that they displayed to you, our students and to each other. We finished strong and proudly in June. We supported each other in ways that we would have not thought of because of the COVID storm. And now, we are starting in similar conditions for the 2020-2021 school year. As we begin, I know that we will see the opportunity to interact with each other in creative and novel ways. I am so excited for all the possibilities.
As we shift our attention to the opening of the school year, we will all have to exercise grace, patience, resilience and flexibility like never before. I believe this COVID storm will draw out the very BEST from each of us. There are lessons that can only be learned in the midst of a storm. I want you to ask yourself, "What am I supposed to learn about who I am as a student, a parent and family during this storm?" I am certain that when you find the answer, you will be a stronger student, parent and family that you could have ever imagined than you were before COVID entered your lives. I cannot wait to see what will be revealed.
On the evening of July 29, we will be releasing our 2020-2021 Virtual Orientation Video that you will be able to watch as a family. By this time, you will have received your IPAD already.
On July 30, I will be hosting two new parent orientation meetings via ZOOM. Below are the invitation codes to attend. I hope to meet many of you during one of the meetings.

Communication with you will be crucial in effectively executing distance learning for the year. I am working with our webmaster to make our website a more effective tool of communicating. One of those things is to introduce our staff to you. For the first time in the history of the school, most of our staff has agreed to have their pictures on the website. We are also adding a new tab titled "Distance Learning" in order to provide you with one dedicated place to have information regarding distance learning. It is still a work in progress and our goal is to have that up and running by Wednesday, July 29, at the earliest and Friday, July 31 at the latest.
Finally, below are some important updates for you as you plan for your children to return to school. There are still some things that are negotiated. They are expected to be approved by the board tomorrow night. Once that happens, I will be able to share more detailed information.
Let's have an amazing week!
