How do I Excuse my Student for an Appointment?
Blue Pass!!!!!
If you are needing to pick up your student at a certain time, Parents/Guardians are more than welcome to call us earlier in the day and we will be happy to deliver a blue pass to your student.
A Blue Pass is a student’s pass out of class. For example, if you have an orthodontist appointment in the afternoon, call the attendance line at 970-833-7105 and leave a message with your child’s name, your name and time you would like your student to be released. The school office will then deliver a "blue pass" to your student. When the designated time arrives, your child may show the teacher the blue pass and can leave class to meet you. They will already be checked out in our system and do not need to check out in the office. Parents/Guardians also do not need to come to the office when a Blue Pass is issued.

The Passionate Polyglot
“What is that Chicken Scratch? (The Russian Alphabet)”
The school year is upon us and the first challenge for my brave Russian I students is learning the Russian alphabet; a task that is both daunting and fun. There are 33 letters in the Russian Alphabet: 10 vowels, 21 consonants, and 2 signs that have no sound. Russian is an Eastern Slavonic language closely related to Ukrainian and Belorussian with about 277 million speakers in Russia and 30 other countries. The Cyrillic alphabet was introduced into Russia (Kiev Rus) at the time of its conversion to Christianity (988 AD). The alphabet, the Cyrillic script is named in honor of the Byzantine scholar and monk, Cyril (827-869 AD), who, together with his brother Methodius (826-885 AD), created the first Slavic writing system in the second half of the ninth century in order to translate the Bible and other Christian texts into the Slavic languages. Ask your students to read the letters to you. It’s great practice and you’ll be impressed with how quickly they are learning. До следующей недели (until next week)! Всего хорошего (all the best)!

Board of Education Meeting Location
With the start of the new school year, we are taking the opportunity to relocate the regular monthly Weld RE-4 Board of Education meetings to the Windsor High School auditorium starting on August 16, 2021. To access the board meeting, please use the activities center entrance (student parking lot) at Windsor High School 1100 Main Street, Windsor. As our district passes the 8,000-student mark and we anticipate the many student and staff celebrations, recognitions, presentations and community input that will occur during board meetings this year, we need a larger space that can comfortably accommodate guests and community members. Meeting agendas can be found here.

A Message from the Weld RE-4 School District
We hope your family's first week of school is off to a great start. We are excited to have students back in classrooms and want to keep learning, in-person, every day this year. This means all of us must do our part to keep our school communities healthy.
It is important to monitor and check your child for symptoms at home each day. If they have symptoms or are feeling sick, please keep them home. If symptoms persist or intensify, you may want to explore testing options with your medical provider. Also, if someone in an unvaccinated student or staff member's home tests positive for COVID, the student/staff member needs to complete a quarantine period prior to attending school or school functions. For more information please visit our website.
Symptoms of COVID are listed here. While you may be attributing symptoms to the poor air quality (which can be similar), we ask that students and staff who have symptoms stay home from school as a precaution to limit potential transmission of the virus in our schools. We know students are excited to be back, but keeping kids home when they are sick will help ensure that school stays in session.
Thank you for your support.
Parents
We have had several email addresses bounce back due to employment changes!
Thank you!
