Jag News
Start of School for August 16
Message from the Principal
Good evening Jags!
The first day of school is right around the weekend! We are looking forward to Monday as our Jags come back for a great 21-22 school year! There is a lot information below regarding First Day procedures, schedules, bus info, PTSA info, etc, and celebrations for some of our Jags over the past couple of weeks. There is a slightly adjusted school bell schedule below compared to the one sent out recently. Please be sure you have the most current one.
Every day we are getting more students back on campus as different groups start their practices for this year! It is great to see our Jags back and getting ready for a big year!
Reminder that all students should be able to see their full schedules on the Student & Family Access portals starting Saturday, 8/14. We will start school Monday with everyone starting in 2nd period at 8:50 AM.
Enjoy your last few days off with family and friends as we finish final prep work for the school year. Remember when you return that it is an opportunity for every student to start out perfect in every class and with your attendance. Work hard and study to do your best from the beginning and it will become a great habit as you go through the 21-22 school year.
We are looking forward to seeing you on campus soon! Go Jags!
Sincerely,
Gary Comalander - Principal

CTJ Bell Schedule for 21-22
We have made a couple of small changes to the new bell schedule for Johnson HS for 2021-22. The changes are on the M-W-F schedule and involve a couple of minutes being moved around to give time for announcements and the Pledges.
Please use this bell schedule as you plan different appointments or activities throughout the school year. Also including a copy of our school calendar for 2021-22 for planning purposes. Hopefully this will help with everyone knowing when our holidays are located for next year.
Parent letter from 8/11/21

Bus Information
Buses will depart from campus 10 minutes after school is released
Do not walk or run in front of or beside a moving bus.
The bus lane is the loop on the east end of the main building (closer to the marquee). Buses will be parked in two lines (an outside lane and an inside lane). The outside lane of buses refers to the buses parked closest to the street side of the school and the inside lane of buses refers to those parked closest to the school.
Morning drop-off: buses will drop off in the loop and students can move to the cafeteria/courtyard for breakfast or wait for school to start.
Afternoon departure: students will proceed immediately to the bus loop to find their bus.
Use the QR code or URL to access the bus departure order daily from your cell phone. https://tinyurl.com/jhsbus20192020
If you do not have a cell phone the AP at the bus loop can help you.
For students/parents unsure if you have bus service or not and to determine information on bus routes can be accessed on the North East website using the info-finder: http://www.infofinderi.com/ifi/?cid=NEI05464638120
This site will tell you a) whether you have bus service; b) bus #; c) time bus picks up and drops off; d) location of pick-up/drop-off.
Seniors with Late Arrival
CTEC, Cyber Security, and Hallmark students only
You will go to the library during your CTEC periods on Monday. We will take attendance once you arrive and a teacher from CTEC and Cyber Security will meet with you to go over your daily procedures at each location. Regular off-campus classes and transportation will start Tuesday, 8-17-21.
NEISD Free Meals info for 21-22
We want to make sure that you are aware that breakfast and lunch are FREE for all North East ISD students this school year. You do not need to qualify for this benefit. Students will have to pay for any extras that they would like at each meal.
Please have your student join us for a nutritious and delicious meal in the cafeteria starting on August 16!
Menus can be viewed at School Nutrition / Home (neisd.net) or on the School Café app as we get closer to the first day of school.

School Lockers
If you are involved in an extra-curricular event or PE, you will receive a locker in those areas.
School ID's
If you are a returning student, you will receive a photo ID this week. If you are new to CTJ, you can go to the library beginning Tuesday, August 17th and get one for FREE.
Your school ID will be used in many areas throughout the year. Using your ID at lunch will help speed up the process of feeding everyone. You will need your school ID for all College Board testing and to go to school sponsored dances.
If you lose your ID and need to get it replaced it is $5 in the library. ID’s will be sold starting the 2nd week of school.
Parking Permits Srs & Jrs for 21-22
All seniors and juniors that have submitted a parking permit application that was approved will be able to receive a parking permit before the start of the school year. Please have your child check their student email for an email from Mr. Berg that contains a payment link.
A few students received an email stating that they still need to send additional documentation (updated driver's license, insurance, etc.). The required documentation can still be emailed to Mr. Berg for approval.
We still have parking permits available for the 2021-2022 school year. Seniors and juniors can complete a parking permit application anytime during the school year. The application information is located on the Johnson High School webpage (https://www.neisd.net/johnson).
Students who have outstanding fines, technology obligations, or parking tickets will not be allowed to purchase a parking permit until those obligations have been cleared.
Please feel free to email if you have any questions or want me to check on the status of your child's application.
Sincerely,
Steve Berg

Johnson Dance Summer Fun!
Johnson Dance has been busy prepping for the year ahead! This summer has been a productive one. All Officers, Managers, Legacies Varsity Dance, and Belles JV Dance attended camps hosted at our home campus to learn material that will be showcased at upcoming pep rallies & football games.
These camps gave both teams an opportunity to learn choreography, but more importantly, reiterated ways on how to serve their team & community. We are looking forward to an exciting year ahead as we cheer on our Jaguars!
Please be on the lookout for information regarding our Lil’ Ladybird Dance Clinic this fall. We have missed this annual event and cannot wait to dance on the field again with our Lil’ Ladybirds! Take a look at the flyer attached to Save the Date.
