Alcohol and the Body
Knowing the consequences..
Alcohol is very dangerous for the body inside and out. The consequences can be very serious and should be addressed correctly. Alcohol effects the different systems of the body including the digestive system, the reproductive system, and the immune system.
First, alcohol effects the digestive system. When you drink, your risk of getting mouth, esophagus, and stomach cancer goes up. Also the alcohol injures the lining of your stomach and causes ulcers. Drinking alcohol can also cause malnutrition. Malnutrition is when the body does not get enough nutrients required for your health.

Next, alcohol effects the reproductive system. Drinking during puberty has a major effect on the productive system. For girls, drinking during puberty can cause irregular periods and delay the menstrual cycle. For boys, drinking during puberty can lower muscle mass and effect the size of different parts of the body.
Finally, alcohol effects the immune system. Drinking lowers the number of cells that fight infections. This increases the risk of developing pneumonia, tuberculosis, HIV, Hepatitis C and Hepatitis B and other infections.
