The BCHS Food Science Class is so excited to receive their new Hydroponic Garden. They will learn about how to take care of the plants, how to check the ph of the water as well as nutrients etc. Mrs. Jennifer Hebert, FACS Teacher at BCHS was awarded this Hydroponic Garden as a Beta Tester for this new product from the Realityworks company. The students will begin to grow butter lettuce as a starter project and would like to incorporate green smoothies into their lab days. The students will be learning about sustainability as well as healthier food options in today’s society.

Congratulations to this team at East Elementary school for managing to make the state's top ten list of "Outstanding Schools" in the Acadiana area! They ranked 2nd with 68% growth in ELA and Math.

East Elementary held it's annual Meet the Teacher Night August 5. Parents and students were welcomed by Mrs. Gina Lagrange, principal, in a general assembly. Teachers then welcomed them into their classrooms.

GLENDALE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

First-grade students at Glendale Elementary completed a week-long lesson on being A STAR CITIZEN. They answered riddle questions and guessed who the student was by hair color, eye color and what they love to do. A star citizen of Glendale is patient, cooperative, respectful and honest.

GRAND COTEAU ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Ms. Gauthier’s science class experiments how far seeds are spread when the wind is the determining factor. Students identified the different seeds and documented where they landed in their respected “zone”.
