PBS STEAM Event - Ozobots

Join us for some coding fun at the library! Thanks to our partnership with PBS, we will have Ozobots at the library for kids on Tuesday, November 21st starting at 2pm. Ozobots are a platform for kids to learn coding and robotics; see you at the library!

DIY Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade Float or Balloon

Wednesday, Nov. 22nd, 9am

Vinton Iowa Public Library, 510 2nd Avenue, Vinton, IA

It's Thanksgiving time, and we're celebrating in a fun and creative way! Make your own parade float or balloon for a fun VPL parade! Floats and balloons can be made at home, or here at the library, and can be physical or digital. If you make yours at home, send us a picture at library@vintonia.gov. We will post all photos to our social media platforms. Happy Building!

Join us at the library while Margie Ortgiesen reads aloud from the Charles Dickens' classic 'A Christmas Carol.' This event will be held on four consecutive Wednesdays beginning November 29th at 7pm; Margie will read a different part of the story each week. This event is free and open to the public and will be held in our main floor Reading Room. Call up your friends and family and make plans to attend this family-friendly Holiday event.

Spotlight on Library Resources: Henry the Tortoise

This summer VPL added a Russian Tortoise to our VPL family! Henry lives in our Children's Library and loves the library life! He eats a variety of fresh greens and a small amount of fresh fruit. He visits Dr. Alice for his veterinarian care and is happy to listen to a story from our youngest readers! Stop by VPL and meet Henry today!
