We are not A TEAM because we work together. We are A TEAM because we we respect, trust, and care for each other.
Building Momentum
Curriculum Night
All certified staff will be in the gym. I shared my presentation with everyone. I will introduce everyone at 6:30. As parents come in, they will watch a video Ben is creating on how we show our happiness! That will loop for parents to watch! After our session we will get that on our website or on YouTube to share out. My session will end at about 6:55. I will ask parents and students to stay put while staff leave the gym. They should arrive at 7:00 to begin session 1. Session 2 begins at 7:30. I will make an announcement at 8:00 thanking everyone for attending, unless I see a grade in the middle of discussion, which happens from time to time.
As a parent, I want to get to know my child's teacher(s) and leave knowing what my child will learn over the course of the year. All grade level teachers were asked to share the curricular units that will be covered over the course of the year. If you have any questions, please ask.
Benchmarking
I leave it to teachers to decide on a date to complete all STAR testing.
- Kdg will take STAR Early Literacy.
- Grade 1 takes STAR Early Literacy.
- Grades 2-6 takes STAR Reading and STAR Math.
Please let your LBS and I know of the dates that you will test and which assessment that you are taking on each date. LBS has to know your date asap so they can accommodate the needs of students.
Each benchmark is very important. Please set up conditions where testing can be optimized.
Once benchmarking is complete in grades K-2, Danielle will take the lead on narrowing down students that will work with Title I Teaching Assistants and what the focus will be. That support will start shortly after benchmarking along with the start of DEB. DEB will likely start the week of September 18th.
I will await the completion of all F&P testing for Data Review to take place. Send me F&P results when you have them. Data Review will take place the week of Oct. 2.
Mid-Day Collaboration
Mid-day collaboration is a great time to connect, learn, and share with one another. My hope is that staff have a thirst for these meetings. What is discussed in those meetings should enhance learning in the classroom for all. If you do not have a thirst for the meetings, think about ways you can make them more meaningful, engaging, and fun.
Refer to the staff handbook for schedule information.
