News from the Cafeteria...
During the pandemic, schools were able to offer no cost meals to all students due to temporary program flexibilities provided by the federal government. These flexibilities have expired, and the U.S. Congress did not provide funding in this year's budget to allow schools to serve free meals to all students in the 2022-2023 school year. The child nutrition department of North Hopkins ISD will be processing Free and Reduced applications for all students of North Hopkins. These applications will be available for pickup at Meet the Teacher on August 15, and they will also be in your students packet that they will bring home at the beginning of the school year. The applications are also available at each campus office if you would like to pick one up for your student or students.
2022-2023 NHE Transportation Updates
- Calls requesting transportation changes to a student's afternoon pick-up/bus riding plans must be made by 2:30 p.m.
For Student Safety!
- Parents picking up students early in the afternoon for appointments must sign your student out by 3:10 p.m. or stay in the parent pick-up line. For the safety of parents & students, you can not walk up to pick up your student once the pick-up lines start moving. You will be asked to return to your vehicle.
- Car Pick-Up Tags - Each parent will receive 5 car pick-up tags for their student. Please give a tag to anyone that you will have pick up your student in the parent pick-up line during the school year. This will allow the afternoon loading crew to know who has permission to pick up your student. If additional tags are needed please contact your students teacher or the elementary office. For student safety, anyone picking up your student must have a tag!
