KSD Survey Coming Soon
Kirkwood’s spring survey window opens next week for all students, staff, and families to complete Round Two of Panorama surveys. Your input informs ongoing efforts related to our strategic plan, both at our schools and the district level. Each school has strategic plan goals tied to survey data, and high participation rates will be essential to these efforts. The survey for students and families will be the same as was administered in the fall.
Just as we did in the fall, we are partnering with Panorama Education. Panorama safeguards your privacy, keeping your responses confidential. The survey will be a valuable source of information for us as we work to make our schools and District as good as we can be.
Keep an eye out for the specific link and codes from your school and in next week’s eSpotlight.
In the News....KHS Announced as a Missouri Gold Star School!
Missouri Recognizes Eight Gold Star Schools
The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) has announced eight Missouri Gold Star Schools for 2022. The program, which aligns with the National Blue Ribbon Schools Program sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education, recognizes schools for outstanding academic achievement or for performing at high levels while serving a significant proportion of disadvantaged students.
The Missouri Gold Star Schools program was established in 1991 and uses the same criteria for nomination as the National Blue Ribbon Schools Program. The U.S. Department of Education’s Blue Ribbon Schools will be announced this fall.
“Congratulations to the students, teachers, and staff members of each of these schools for earning this recognition,” said Commissioner of Elementary and Secondary Education Margie Vandeven. “These schools exemplify what it takes to prepare students for success in school and in life while working hard to meet the needs of each individual child.”

COVID Dashboard and Report Positive Case Form
Masks are recommended, but not required, in all KSD schools. If the building COVID-19 positivity rate reaches 1.5% at an individual school, students and staff will be required to wear masks at that school for at least two weeks. We will include daily updates on the number of cases for each school on our dashboard and notify families and staff if a change to masking status is needed. View the dashboard by visiting kirkwoodschools.org/coviddashboard
The primary role of the dashboard is to provide data specific to the potential for in-school transmission. One of the ways we can ensure the dashboard is as up-to-date as possible is quick and accurate reporting of any student that tests positive for COVID. Families can self report a positive case by using completing the Report a Positive Case form.
