for K-12 families at Hillsboro Online Academy
End of Semester 1 Wrap-Up
Today is the last day of Semester 1!
- Tomorrow teachers are working on grades and our office staff will process them and print report cards next week. There is no school on Monday, January 31 so teachers can prep their courses for 2nd semester.
- Students that are returning to their buildings will be withdrawn from HOA as soon as their grades are processed. Our Registrar will email the appropriate people on Monday so they can enroll the students so they'll be ready to go on Tuesday.
- Students joining HOA at the semester have a similar process to go through before we can enroll them. Students and their parents will receive an email once they are enrolled and will get information on how to get started.

In-District Transfer Reminder
Students wishing to continue a current in-district transfer or request a new in-district transfer for the 2022-23 school year can apply Jan. 10-31 by using our online transfer request application at hsdtransfer.hsd.k12.or.us.
Students who are currently on a one-year only transfer, but plan to return to their home school in the 2022-23 school year do not need to take any action, as they will automatically be returned to their home school in the student information system at the end of the 2021-22 school year.
Students who wish to request an out-of-district transfer must wait until the Board takes action in March to determine the number of students who can be released for such transfers. Those requests can be made from April through mid-May.
For additional information about student transfers, please see our Boundaries and Transfers webpage or contact Communications Specialists Marleen Zytniowski and Katie Russell-Willis at transfers@hsd.k12.or.us or 503-844-1771.
