Superintendent's Message
Dear JUHSD Community,
I hope you enjoyed the long weekend and had a chance to reflect on the work of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Tuesday marked the seventh annual National Day of Racial Healing, which is observed on the day after MLK's birthday. On this day, individuals, organizations and communities across the U.S. came together to explore their common humanity and build the relationships necessary to create a more just and equitable world. I encourage you to view the "National Day of Racial Healing: An MSNBC Town Hall" by following this link!
Sunday, January 22, marks the start Lunar New Year 2023, the year of the rabbit. To learn more about the history of this holiday, please click here. To learn more about local Lunar New Year events taking place in the SF Bay Area, click here. To those celebrating, 新年好!
There is no school on Wednesday, January 25, as staff will attend a districtwide professional development day. School will resume on Thursday, January 26.
Finally, as January is School Board Appreciation Month, I would like to acknowledge and thank our JUHSD Board of Trustees for their tireless commitment to the students and staff of this academic community. We are extremely lucky to have such a dedicated and thoughtful board!
I hope that you are able to get out and enjoy the sun this weekend! As always, know that my door is always open
Warmly,
Toni Presta
Superintendent
