UPDATED CDPH GUIDANCE
The following is guidance related to COVID-19 and schools.
- Masks are mandatory for all K-12 students and adult staff in K-12 school settings when sharing indoor spaces with students;
There are no mask requirements (for students or staff) in outdoor settings;
Physical distancing no longer required with masking;
Fully vaccinated persons, without symptoms, do not need to quarantine;
There is a modified quarantine when unvaccinated students are exposed and wearing masks versus not wearing masks;
Based on this updated guidance from CDPH, Sem Yeto is asked to limit visitors and volunteers in indoor classroom settings and spaces where students are present.
NO persons (staff, students, or parents) should come to campus if they exhibit any COVID-19 symptoms including fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea.
COVID-19 Safety:
1) Wear a mask when indoors around campus
2) Stay home if you or your student is exhibiting any signs or symptoms of sickness or if you have been exposed to an individual who is positive for COVID-19 (Close Contact)
2) Notify Mr. Hightower (jamesh@fsusd.org) and/or Mrs. Sherrod (larissas@fsusd.org) if your student is exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms or is a close contact.
Our ability to keep everyone safe and to keep our school open depends on our families and staff being cautious.

School Committees
Sem Yeto is looking for individuals to become a part of various site level committees. We need students and parents/guardians to be part of School Site Counsel, English Learners Advisory Committee, Mascot Selection Committee, and Tier I Committee.
School Site Counsel:
This counsel will meet six times per year to discuss various topics related to the school. The counsel will review budget and determine what is needed to support student learning.
English Learners Advisory Committee:
This committee meets four times per year to discuss various topics and determine support for our students who are English Learners.
Mascot Selection Committee:
This process started during the 2019-2020 school year, but with the school closing down due to COVID-19, we were not able to completed it; therefore, we are starting up again. We need parents/guardians and students to meet and discuss the selection of the future mascot of Sem Yeto. This selection will include the mascot design as well.
Tier I Committee:
This committee will meet 1-2 times per month to discuss various supports for ALL of our students attending Sem Yeto as well as creating some fun attendance competitions for students to participate in during the school day.
If you are interested in taking part of these committees, please complete this form:
Parent Leader
My name is Felix Ramirez and I was raised, went to school and lived in Fairfield my whole life (pretty much). I have 2 sons who are both in high school; who continually keep my husband and I dreaming of graduation day. My husband and I have been married for over 10 years and have been together over 16.
We met in high school (Armijo- go Indians!) and discovered love after graduation. We participated in youth football when our boys were younger, also serving on the Board of Directors in various roles.
My husband and I both work full-time (from home, for now), but we enjoy our time as a family on the rare days we are all home at once. In my spare time I enjoy writing, baking, documentaries, non-fiction books, painting and anything crafty. We also have a 4-year old chocolate Labrador named Tootsie and a 5-year old Tuxedo cat named Harmony.
Sprinkle in my 5 brothers, 3 sisters, 6 nephews, 5 nieces, dad and step-mom, oh and I suppose every once in a while our beloved friends. And that’s just MY side! So, I am usually go-go-go and juggling all of this; Parent Leader for the 2021-2022 Sem Yeto school year? Bring it on.

Few reminders:
- Please remember to come prepared to school with your chormebook and charger. Be sure that your chromebook is charged and ready to be used in ALL of your classes. If you do not have a chromebook for the day or have not had one checked out to you, you may go to the office BEFORE school to check one out.
- Remember that deliveries of food from Door Dash and Uber Eats are not allowed during the school day. These deliveries will not be accepted at the school office.
- Sem Yeto students are not to go on the Armijo or Fairfield campuses during the school day or after school while they are still in session without permission or with an adult. If you believe that you need to have access to the campus, please speak with a staff member.
As always, keep making those good choices and set an example for others around you!
