Magic in the Middle Memo #2
Week 1 Preparation
I hope that you are enjoying your holiday weekend and gearing up for school. I am sure there are many mixed feelings about the start to this very unusual year but please know you are not alone. We are here for you, we will help you, support you and guide you and children every step of the way. My goal for today is to put your mind at ease, provide you with information for this week and simply say, please do not worry. This staff is strong and works hard to connect and create relationships. There is nothing more important than the power of a teacher. They are and will be your number # ingredient to instruction and will work hard to ensure that we make this a successful year.
My tips for week 1 are as follows, these are steps and items you can review with your child:
Charge your chromebook, have a space to work~
1) Review your schedule
2) Know the cycle day schedule- we are on a 6 day cycle and this is located in the virtual orientation for the month. This is key as there are daily rotations for World Language and Health (attached below).
3) For every class period there is a Google Classroom invite that needs to be accepted via email that was sent.
4) There is a period schedule, also included in the virtual tour. We are following a period by period schedule (attached below).
5) On Tuesday, be ready with period 1 zoom at 8:00AM, class will begin daily at 8:15AM.
6) Attendance is taken each period and there is an exit ticket for each period.
7) Each period will be live and there will be time for students to see the lesson and then time to complete work as well as time in between each period to get to the next period.
8) Period 8 is advisory and each student is assigned to an advisor. They must report to this period as well.
Focus for the week is to establish a routine, be sure you can enter all Google Classrooms and make a connection with the teacher.
Best wishes for a great year ahead! Take it one day at a time.

Dear Methacton Families,
I hope you are having a wonderful summer and enjoying time with friends and family!
I would like to take this opportunity to welcome your student(s) back to Aramark Dining Services for the 2020-2021 school year. During these unprecedented times, we want you to know that keeping your students safe while dining with us is our #1 priority.
With the weeks quickly passing, we have been busy working alongside Superintendent Dr. Zerbe and support staff to determine the safest dining solutions and develop the best option(s) to offer students when the school year begins.
As classes move online for the first marking period, Aramark will be partnering with Methacton to offer curbside drive-up meal distribution for all students, based out of the Skyview/Arcola Campus.
In order to stay organized and ensure all students have access to a nutritious complete meal, please utilize the following guidelines when picking up from the school.
Distribution days will be Tuesdays & Thursdays
Tuesday’s pickup will include Breakfast and Lunch for both Tuesday and Wednesday
Thursday’s pickup will include Breakfast and Lunch for Thursday, Friday and Monday.
Pickup Times are as follows:
7:00 AM – 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM
If your last name begins with “A – M”, please pull up to the main entrance at Skyview for picking up meals.
If your last name begins with “N – Z”, please pull around Arcola to the Planetarium entrance for picking up meals.
Cars may drive up single file in their respective distribution lane, then give their student(s)’ name and ID number to cafeteria staff, who will then charge your account and retrieve meals to place in your vehicle. Please note that if you are on the free and reduced meal plan, this would be applied to both the breakfast and lunch.
Please note that when you purchase a meal, you are purchasing both breakfast and lunch for your student(s) for all of the days listed above. Free and Reduced pricing will apply to all meals for each day.
For safety & sanitation, please wear a face mask or face covering when interacting with cafeteria staff to pick up meals.
We kindly ask that any cash or checks meant to fund account balances be in a sealed envelope with student name & ID number printed legibly. If more than one student’s funds are in the envelope, then note how much per student.
With school officially opening virtually for students on September 8th, we have a lot to accomplish, but we are excited to finally be back serving meals again to the best customers we know! The first pick up will be on Tuesday September 8th between 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM.
Please call our office at 610-489-5000, ext. 30216, or email Zachary Lindeman with any questions you may have.
