Panther Pause
21 years of Pride at Colleyville Heritage High School
11.17.17
Panthers,
We have officially made it to the Thanksgiving break! For me, this time of year is always an important time to be with family and to reflect upon the many things I am thankful for. This year (more than any other year), I will have the opportunity to reflect upon the amazing successes we have had as a campus in such a short period of time.
- We set school records for the number of National Merit students recognized with 41 students. That number of students has CHHS ranked second in DFW with the 2nd highest percentage of students recognized in that program.
- For the first time in school history, our school choir has been selected at the TMEA honor choir.
- The girls cross country made it to state for the first time in school history.
- The volleyball team matched the school record for the deepest playoff run in school history, making it to the regional final with only one win away from the state tournament.
- The football team won the first-ever outright district championship in school history.
- In over 15 years, our tennis team won the district championship.
- Our school community raised $15,000 to support the community of Bridge City as they recover from Hurricane Harvey.
- The faculty donated $2,000 to St. Jude's research to help prevent and treat childhood cancers.
- The Color Run generated nearly $5,000 for OURescue to help stop human trafficking.
- The astronomy class made an original discovery of an asteroid through NASA's Near Earth Object Program.
- The Conservative Club delivered flowers and thank you notes to 81 military spouses.
- Last week we had six student-athletes sign a National Letter of Intent to continue their athletic/academic career at the collegiate level.
I am so very thankful for the opportunity to be a part of their successes, and it makes me incredibly excited about what the rest of the year has in store for us. I hope every one has a safe and happy Thanksgiving break. Please enjoy your time together and GO PANTHERS!!

PRIDE at CHHS means that we all share the same panther brand. And despite the differences between students, faculty, and community, we are all able to come together as one to make a positive impact in our community and develop a culture of success and pride at CHHS.
