What is going down at Hosp?
5ive For Friday
1. Happiness: Naval Ravikant is the CEO and founder of Angellist and an "Angel Investor" and has invested in over 100 startup companies. He has a philosophies on life, happiness, business are a bit different but he does force everyone to think. However his philosophy on happiness consist of: "find a purpose for your life" "seek truth and accept things and the world for how they are", "just live the life you have or want to have on this earth and live life in harmony with others".
For teachers and people who work with children I think they have already found this purpose. They spend their days and lives helping others. They do the greatest good, helping children learn. Not just learning about math or science but about citizenship, kindness, respect, love, and kindness. Those lessons are more valuable then who sailed the ocean blue in 1492. I am so glad we work at a school that goes above and beyond and teaches just as many life lessons as math lessons!
2. Hosp Steppers! Huge shoutout to all the Hosp staff involved in the step challenge! As of Wednesday the average staff member had walked 285,000 steps! Unreal. Some staff are routinely averaging 30k steps a day!
3. Remember those questions? Yes those strange ones that I asked in January about you? It will be audio only of the staff member sharing their answers to the questions. The goal is you will learn a little bit more about your colleagues! Our first staff profile will feature our one and only Heather Williams. Stayed tuned!
4. Lim(b)itations: Nurse Griffin shared this story of some FISD students overcoming life's obstacles. Great fun and motivational video! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GVdUuNPEO8I&feature=youtu.be
Here is another video that was all over the internet last month, a University of Florida basketball player, playing at the highest level of college basketball is a phenomenal player...oh and he has one arm. http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=14425086
To Tiffany Ford for the music performance on Monday night. It had us dreaming of sunshine and catching a wave! Well done Mrs. Ford!
To Caroline London for the fantastic display at the Administration building! We have some talented artists and it is thanks to your love of your students!
To Mrs. Garcia and Mrs. Turner- who are going out of their way for a new student and parent who are new to public education.
To Donna Hickman who is simply the best counselor in FISD and all of North Texas!
To Mrs. Chung, the front office and the entire Hosp Staff who went out of their way to make my 40th a memorable one. Thank you very much!

Next week we learn about Mrs. Williams
You'll be surprised...and enjoy some stories from Mrs. Williams. Including a horrific night in Dallas, the contradiction she battles with herself, her love for life, and what she admires about her co-workers at Hosp!
