What we are learning...
Apples, apples, apples! We kicked off our week with an apple orchard set up in the dramatic play area. The kids weighed apples, pretended to make apple pie and sell apples from the orchard. One of our favorite activities was making applesauce in a crock-pot. Honestly, it was delicious and scored a thumbs up from 6 out of 9 preschoolers!
In math we are doing individual Apple Counting Books. This activity is working on number concepts and the understanding of one-to-one correspondence between objects & number.
The word, respect, was introduced this week as well. We read books, watched videos and had discussions to help us learn the meaning.
Trying our applesauce.
Using dab & dot markers to color an apple!
Block Center
Here some of the students discovered some of the animals could hang from places. Each time they added another animal, they counted them and realized their total was getting bigger. It was awesome to witness their excitement from their discovery.
