Bobcat Beat
Week of Oct. 14-18, 2019
IPDP - DUE in the portal by Oct. 30th
THANK YOU!
Thank you for ALL of your efforts last week during FTE! Your close attention to daily attendance and on-going communication regarding absences was of critical importance. We really appreciate your time and attention! (Now let's try to keep that focus to help eliminate delays of trying to find absent students during afternoon dismissal.) :)
Student and Staff IDs
The new District policies on student and staff IDs have been shared and must be enforced by all of us, similar to our school-based uniform policy. Students are to be wearing their IDs ALL DAY, EVERY DAY. Their lanyards and IDs cannot be altered in any way, as they are assigned specifically based upon color and design, and are articulated to all emergency personnel with that same focus.
We are responsible for any cost associated with additional supplies, and do not have an allocated budget from the District to do so. We were provided enough supplies to produce one set of IDs. Therefore, we desperately need your assistance in helping ensure these IDs are cared for and kept to prevent loss and damage. Please develop classroom systems to ensure they are collected daily, accounted for, and kept secure to be distributed the next day.
In addition, please ensure your students are wearing these IDs ALL DAY, EVERY DAY, as expected.
1st Quarter Ends
As we wrap up the 1st quarter tomorrow, please be sure to review the grade posting deadlines included below. Your Honor Roll list template is attached below. It is due to Ms. Palmieri at the end of the day on Friday, Planning Day.

Stress Management & Self-Care
In our work as educators most of our time is spent taking care of student’s needs. However, finding ways to care for ourselves is crucial to our own sustainability and those around us. This training will provide tools for stress management, and methods to reduce and prevent burnout. Participants will evaluate their own stress levels, and look at some of the root causes of burnout. Participants will leave this training with techniques to combat stress and care for self when serving our children with the highest needs. (flyer included below)

Two major updates:
1.) The "DRAFT" watermark will not appear on the completed and saved pages.
2.) The intervention plan and academic goals will now print.
Please visit the MTSS SharePoint Site for more resources and how to complete a PMP.

Planning Day
I will not be on campus for Friday's Planning Day. My father is having a heart procedure, so I am flying out late Thursday night to be there on Friday and planning to return late Sunday night. As a result, there will be no called meeting on Friday. Therefore, the schedule for the 7-hour day is as follows:
- 8:00 am - Workday Begins
- 11-12* - Lunch (by contract, "Teachers may take one hour for lunch on planning days.")
- 3:00 pm - Workday Ends
There is no comp time if you choose to not leave campus for lunch, as the lunch 'break' is included in the 7-hour day. Personal leave, if being requested, can only be taken for religious holidays, weddings, or bereavement on planning days. Should you have questions, please be sure to ask! :)
