This moon was discovered in 1610 by Galileo galilee. It is the smallest of the four moons of Jupiter. The moon is very cold and has an ocean under the thin layer of ice that traps the ocean.
What Is Europa?
The sheet of water is estimated to be about 18 miles thick. There are no mountains and ridges on the surface and the surface is very smooth. It is said to be very new and about 20 – 200 million years old
The atmosphere of the moon consists of nothing but oxygen. But this oxygen is not breathable by humans because earth’s atmosphere is mainly nitrogen and only 22% oxygen.
Europa is 1,900 miles in diemeter making it the 6th largest moon in the solar system. NASA belives that there might be life on this planet because of conditions similer to earth's oceans.
Eroupa is the 6th closest moon to Jupiter. The moon has the smoothest surface of any planet in the solar sysytem.
Europa is the sixth moon of the planet Jupiter.
Europa
. Europa takes 85 hours to complete one orbit around Jupiter. Europa is one of the largest moons in the solar system. Europa is made of silicate rock and probably has an iron core. Unlike the Earth the same side of Europa always faces Jupiter.
