By Sam Rose
Did you know that walking is an exercise that helps everyone? You don't have to be a member at an expensive gym. You don't have to own any fancy equipment. Our community has a lot of great walking trails that are free to use. So, walk this summer... it's so good for YOU!
Three Benefits To Walking
Although there are numerous benefits to walking, here are three of the main benefits:
1. Decreases risk of chronic diseases such as heart diseases, cancer, and diabetes.
2. Helps with weight management.
3. Shown to strengthen mental and emotional health.
For kids and teens, walking 60 minutes per day at a moderate intensity will improve their physical fitness. For adults, 150 minutes of moderate intensity walking or 75 minutes of vigorous intensity walking will improve their physical fitness.
